Conducting a training seminar at the Tajik State Pedagogical University

Within the framework of the Action Plan of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Center for Glaciology of the Agency held a training seminar on the topic “The impact of climate change on water resources of Tajikistan and forecasting natural disasters "dedicated to the" International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development" 2018-2028 "and the 30th anniversary of the state independence of our country in the assembly hall of the State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Aini on November 19 of this year.
During the seminar, specialists from the Agency's Glaciology Center provided students with information on the impact of climate change on water resources in Tajikistan, on forecasting natural disasters and on the daily work of the Center through presentations and using working equipment and tools. During the seminar, students and specialists of the Agency discussed such topics as the country's water resources, glaciers, conducting route snow surveys of the country's river basins (foot and aerovisual method), forecasting avalanches and mudflows, as well as studying outburst-hazardous and glacial lakes.
It should be noted that during the workshop, students were taught how to use industry-specific equipment and tools. The seminar raised the level of knowledge of students in the field of glaciology, climatology and geography in the context of the impact of climate change on water resources in Tajikistan and forecasting natural disasters, as well as provided new knowledge to teachers and students.
