Acquaintance with the automatic station Iskandarkul
The purpose of this event is to increase the level of knowledge of students in the field of climatology, meteorology, hydrology and glaciology.
Students had the opportunity to visit the Iskandarkul meteorological station and get acquainted with the history of the station. The Iskandarkul meteorological station was established in 1929 on the shores of Lake Iskandarkul and is located at an altitude of 2204 m above sea level, where observations in the field of meteorology are carried out every day.
Study of the work processes of the automatic station at the glacier of the hydrographic party.
To more accurately determine the climatic conditions of the basin of glacier of the hydrographic party in the Zaravshan river basin, in 2018, the Agency's specialists installed an automatic station which, serves to register meteorological processes. According to the plan of work at the station, the students were trained, where they were informed about the process of recording data of the the automatic station, such as temperature, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, etc. And also during the training on the hydrographic party, experts provided brief information on the location of the glacier, and how the glacier feeds and degrades.
In addition, the listerners got acquainted with a brief overview of the functions of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and the way of their used on the glacier.
Snow Cover Research
The holding of such events in every possible way increases the level of knowledge of students in the field of climatology, meteorology, hydrology and glaciology and plays an important role in the training of specialists in these fields of science.
