Foreign Affairs Department

Foreign Affairs Department is the structural sub-division of the Agency on hydrometeorology. The staff of the department consists of the head of the Foreign affairs department, a chief specialist, a leading specialist and a specialist. Main objective of the department is to enhance international cooperation, plan activities in the field of international and scientific cooperation; coordination and arrangement of the Agency’s structural sub-divisions in internationally-related matters; preparation of draft documents and letters for the staff of the Agency on hydrometeorology who are invited to participate in international conferences, congresses, symposiums, colloquiums, lectures reading and scientific research work conducting;

Key tasks of the Foreign Affairs Department include:

  • Development of international cooperation programmes;
  • Bridging partnership with foreign countries’ NMHS-s either directly or through WMO;
  • Improvement and enhancement of information exchange and output production with the stakeholders;
  • Conducting joined work in area of global and regional issues consideration with regard to environment study and research;
  • Enabling to integrate operational technologies into hydrometeorological information sphere;
  • Experience exchange in establishment and exploitation of the hydrometeorological technical devices and facilities;
  • Conducting (on the basis of international cooperation) joined work for improving hydrometeorological service and satisfy the needs of the national economy’s branches.
