On March 3, 2026, as part of the implementation of the “Twenty Years of Study and Development of Natural, Exact, and Mathematical Sciences in Science and Education (2020–2040)” initiative, pupils of the Rahnamo Lyceum in Dushanbe visited the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the visit, the pupils became acquainted with the activities of the Weather Forecasting Center, the Environmental Monitoring Department, and the Dushanbe meteorological station. Specialists of the Agency informed them about the methods used in preparing weather forecasts, laboratory monitoring of air pollution, as well as natural phenomena such as snowfall, rain, frost, wind, and other meteorological factors.
During the visit, the pupils had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into activities in the field of meteorology, to understand the importance of studying the exact sciences, and to appreciate their significance in everyday life and for the environment.
It should be noted that the “Twenty Years of Study and Development of Natural, Exact, and Mathematical Sciences in Science and Education (2020–2040)” initiative is aimed at fostering logical thinking, mathematical modeling, and information technology. The main objectives of the program include supporting scientific research, training young specialists, modernizing laboratories, and applying scientific achievements in practice.
