From 10 to 13 August this year, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), conducted a training session on the “Smartmet” software, with the active participation of specialists from the relevant field.
The one-week practical training was part of the programme of experts from the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) and was conducted within the framework of the “FINTAJ” investment projects in Tajikistan. It focused on the active implementation and integration of one of FMI’s most advanced and innovative software solutions for weather forecasting.
Experts from the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), Mr. Toni Hellinen and Mr. Janne Miettinen, provided hands-on training on the software to specialists responsible for developing weather forecasts for the country’s complex high-mountain regions.
The implementation of this modern system will contribute to improving the quality of weather forecasts and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of hydrometeorological services in the region to a new level.
