From 10 to 13 August this year, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), conducted a training session on the “Smartmet” software, with the active participation of specialists from the relevant field.

On 18 August 2026, at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with development partners, an International Scientific and Practical Conference was held on the theme “The 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan: Development and Strengthening of Hydrometeorological Monitoring and Glacier Preservation under Climate Change.” The event brought together representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, state ministries and agencies, scientists and experts in the fields of water resources and climate, representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, development partners, and the mass media.

In order to fulfill the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, increasing public participation in sports, and strengthening the health of the population, a morning exercise session and a recreational walk were held on 15 August 2026 at the waterfall located within the State Institution “Navruzgoh” under the Executive Body of State Power of Dushanbe.

The Meteorological Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has launched an air quality website, https://airquality.meteo.tj, where citizens can find detailed information on the current state of air quality in the country in Tajik, Russian, and English. Currently, automatic air quality monitoring devices have been installed in nine regions of the country, including six in Dushanbe at the S. Ayni Cultural and Recreational Park, Rudaki Avenue, the S. Umarov Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences, the International Presidential School, and villages 65 and 103, as well as three in the cities of Kulob, Vahdat, and Hisor.

On July 2, 2026, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a final meeting dedicated to the results of its activities for the first half of 2026. The meeting was attended by the Agency’s management, heads of departments, centers, and structural divisions.
