On April 16, 2025, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, together with the organization "Caritas Switzerland" and the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology" (MeteoSwiss) held the National Climate Forum, which was attended by representatives of the ministries and departments of the Republic, the private sector, as well as representatives of dehkan (farming) households.

On March 21-22, 2025, Tajikistan, UNESCO & WMO marked World Glacier Day and World Water Day through a series of high-level events in Dushanbe, New York, and Paris. These discussions reinforced the urgent need to protect glaciers and mountain water sources, which are essential for billions of people worldwide. At the UN Headquarters in New York, experts warned about the alarming rate of glacier retreat. Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, shared a poignant story that put a face to the crisis. He spoke of Suhrob, a farmer from a rural village in Tajikistan, whose crops once flourished thanks to the steady supply of glacial meltwater.
