Activity of the information-analytical department of Hydrometeorology

Agency on Hydrometeorology of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of its responsibilities provides various sectors of national economy, such as agriculture, housing construction, road and transport structure, water supply, emergencies, electricity, communications, population and others with different hydrometeorological data, which are implemented directly through information-analytical department of the Agency and provides to the relevant structures the following types of specialized Seasonal forecasts - 4 times, weather forecast for 1 month - 12 times, monthly reviews 12 times, hydrological and agrometeorological bulletins are sent to all social and economic areas 36 times each. Provision of information through e-mail addresses has reached 47, which is several times more than in previous years. 

Information and data are sent to users mainly through Internet communication lines (e-mail addresses, official website of the Agency - www.meteo.tj), as well as directly available to some users. The means of providing industry information through the Agency's official website, www.meteo.tj, shows an increasing increase in the number of visitors.

Leading media outlets in the country are provided with weather information daily, and the data transmitted are archived in print and electronic form.

In order to protect the country's economy from unfavorable natural phenomena, "warning" is given about weather instability (intensive precipitation (rain, snow), hail, increased wind, rapid temperature instability in the air, ice, avalanches, sharp rise in water levels in rivers, haze, dust storms, etc.).

Labor achievements with the use of modern technology:

- Due to the availability of advanced information and communication technologies in modern conditions and world-class equipment, it is now much more effective to provide accurate and timely hydrometeorological information to the population and government agencies on climatic conditions for a particular period of time in the country as a whole. 

- The time of weather forecast preparation and access to users has been reduced;

- Improved storage of information in electronic form;
