It is a matter of pride and honor that today we celebrate two more important political events in the political life of our independent Republic of Tajikistan: the 31st anniversary of the 16th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan and the "Day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan".
On November 16, 1992, the 16th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the ancient city of Khujand, which entered the history of the country under the name "Fateful Session".
The name is connected with the fact that it was at this session that the future fate of the ancient Tajik people was decided.
A man with the blessed name of Emomali Rahmon was elected Chairman of the Supreme Council, who united the people into a single whole, brought peace to the people, and returned refugees to their homeland.
This session marked a turning point in the modern history of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, became the beginning of the peace process, new alignment of political forces, and the establishment of the foundations of a democratic, legal and secular state.
In 2016, the day of November 16 was officially declared in the Majlisi Namoyandagon and Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan as "President's Day of the Republic of Tajikistan", which is solemnly celebrated as the historic day of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Dear E. Rahmon.
The President of the RT is considered the head of the state and executive power, the protector of the Constitution of the country, its laws, human rights and freedom, the guarantor of state and national independence, unity and stability of the state in ordering the activities of state bodies and cooperation, in compliance with international agreements of Tajikistan.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Dear E. Rahmon for great services to the people and the country, as the founder of the independent state of Tajikistan, peace and national unity, in the protection of historical values of the national statehood, for creating favorable conditions for each citizen in the development of the country was awarded the title "Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation".
