The Armed Forces of the independent Republic of Tajikistan were created in extremely complex and very difficult political, military, economic and social conditions of the history of the Tajik people and the Tajik state. Therefore, the creation of the National Army as one of the most important pillars of national statehood was an urgent need of the time, and in turn, not easy, fateful.
The role of the founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon in the creation and strengthening of the national army is unique. History shows that by the decision of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, dated December 18, 1992 No. 3 "On the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan". At the suggestion of the great leader of the nation, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, February 23 was declared the National Army Day in our country.
Despite all the shortcomings and problems of that time, on February 23, 1993 the first military parade of the National Army was held, in which the officers and soldiers who were faithful defenders of the Motherland took part with pride and a high sense of patriotism.
From the first days of the formation of the Armed Forces, the Government of the country mobilized all opportunities to solve the problems of building infrastructure, creating specialized units, equipping them with high technology and providing the necessary conditions of service and living conditions for military personnel.
The personnel of the Armed Forces in the difficult period of internal confrontation and imposed civil war carried out their service patriotic duty with particular loyalty to the Motherland on the way to restoration of constitutional order, stabilization of situation in the country, neutralization of extremist and terrorist groups and other criminal elements, i.e. rendered their truly historic contribution to the establishment of law and order, peace and stability in the country.
Thus, thousands of our officers and soldiers have shown heroism and dedication, giving their lives to restore the constitutional order in the Republic, to ensure peace and tranquility, political stability and national unity.
The Government of Tajikistan, together with the Tajik people, will never forget the courageous feat of the patriots of the fatherland, preserving their historical merits.
Today we can state with great pride that the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, with their heads held high, who have passed many severe tests and honorably fulfilled their military service and professional mission, have proved that the National Army, established 31 years ago, has become a really reliable, orderly and modern military structure of independent Tajikistan.
First of all, congratulating the courageous defenders of the Motherland on the National Army Day, I wish health and success in the military service and honor to all military servicemen, who as a reliable shield stand guard over the independence and freedom of the country, guarding the borders and security of the state.
