Tajikistan delegation's speech at the COP-30 Leaders' Summit in Brazil

In Belém, Brazil, on 7 November, Bahodur Sheralizoda, Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, made an official statement on behalf of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Leaders' Summit within the framework of the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Committee reminded the international community of Tajikistan's key initiative, led by the Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to hold the first-ever High-Level International Conference on Glacier preservation. This event, held on 29–31 May this year in Dushanbe, became a platform for reaching a historic consensus on the importance of preserving glaciers and finding a solution to the global problem of their melting Bahodur Sheralizoda emphasised that the Republic has become a pioneer in bringing this issue to such a high level on the international agenda.

Despite the country's small contribution to global climate change, the CEP Chairman confirmed Tajikistan's unwavering commitment to fulfilling its obligations under the Paris Agreement and taking further steps to implement initiatives in the field of glacier conservation and climate sustainability.

He also touched upon the progress of the implementation of the State Programme for Greening the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2040
