From November 18 to 21 of this year, the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representation in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility, conducted a national training on topics related to the Republic of Tajikistan’s commitments under the Paris Agreement. These commitments are defined at the national level through the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Transparency Framework (ETF/MRV), Biennial Transparency Report (BTR), National Communications under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and other climate-related issues. Representatives from relevant ministries and government agencies of the country participated in the training.
During the training, topics covered included: “The Paris Agreement and the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Market,” “MRV Platform as a Tool for Accessing the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Market,” “National Greenhouse Gas Emissions Registry Database,” “NDC Financing Plan and NDC 3.0 Roadmap,” “Roadmap for NDC 3.0,” as well as other climate-related issues.
It is worth noting that holding this event contributes to enhancing participants’ knowledge and understanding of the Republic of Tajikistan’s commitments under the Paris Agreement, including the processes for preparing and submitting the Nationally Determined Contribution, Biennial Transparency Reports, and National Communications under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
