Conducting a national training on gender sensitivity in the collection, archiving, and monitoring of the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

On 27–28 November of this year, at the initiative of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representation in the Republic of Tajikistan and the Global Environment Facility, a national training was held at the National Library of Tajikistan on the topic “Gender-Sensitive Training on Developed Guidelines, Protocols, and Indicators Based on ETFRAP and ETFIA for Data Collection, Archiving Updates, and Tracking NDC Actions,” with the participation of representatives from the relevant ministries and agencies of the country.

During the two-day training, the following topics were discussed: “National Reports of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UNFCCC,” “Gaps and Recommendations for Engaging Women in the Implementation of Climate Change Adaptation Measures,” “Organization and Improvement of the Data Collection System for the Preparation of the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory,” and “The National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan until 2030 and the 2025–2027 Implementation Plan.”

It should be noted that the national training was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of representatives from government ministries and agencies, scientific institutions, and public organizations in implementing the requirements of the Paris Agreement, as well as national programs and strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the Republic of Tajikistan.
