On April 23, 2026, within the framework of the Regional Environmental Summit, the Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Qurbonzoda Abdullo Habibullo, held a bilateral meeting with Harry Petterila, Director of Expert and Meteorological Services at the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI).
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between the Agency and the Finnish Meteorological Institute in the field of air quality monitoring, improvement of observation systems, and the exchange of experience in the implementation of modern technologies and methodologies.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening technical capacity, developing the air quality monitoring system, training specialists, installing air quality monitoring stations across the country, and implementing joint initiatives in this field.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of environmental monitoring and ensuring environmental safety.
