On May 8, 2025, a ceremonial meeting titled “Victory Day: a Lesson in History and a School of Patriotism” was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. The event took place in a warm and patriotic atmosphere, with the participation of the Agency’s leadership, heads of departments, centers, and divisions.
During the speeches, it was noted that, in order to achieve today’s peaceful and dignified life, alongside other peoples who fought against the fascist regime, the brave men and women of Tajikistan also made a worthy and invaluable contribution. It was emphasized that May 9, Victory Day, holds a special place among the most important historical dates of humanity and serves for the peoples of the world, including the residents of the Republic of Tajikistan, as a symbol of the triumph of justice over evil, courage over hatred, and peace over war.
Continuing the event, participants delivered substantive presentations, recalling the great contribution of the participants of the Great Patriotic War. It was noted that from the very first days of the war, brave and courageous sons of the Tajik people were among the first to go to the front and, with devotion to their Motherland, resilience, and unparalleled bravery, took part in heavy battles. In total, more than 260,000 citizens of Tajikistan participated in the fierce struggle against fascism and, through their heroic deeds, inscribed vivid pages into history.
It was also especially emphasized that the heroism and selflessness of the wartime generation today serve as a role model for our society, especially for young people, and represent a great school of patriotism. In modern conditions, when the people of Tajikistan are firmly committed to the path of development and progress, such values have gained particular significance.
At the conclusion of the event, those present paid deep respect to the bright memory of the fallen war heroes and noted that their good name will forever remain in the pages of history and in the hearts of the people.
