Within the framework of the 4th High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, on May 26 of the current year, a bilateral meeting was held between the Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology, Qurbonzoda Abdullo Habibullo, and Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
During the meeting, the Director of the Agency introduced Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana to the main areas of activity of the Agency for Hydrometeorology. The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the fields of hydrometeorology, climate change, development of early warning systems, and strengthening regional cooperation. He also particularly highlighted the activities of the Glaciology Study Center and the Air Quality Monitoring Department, emphasizing their important role in studying climate processes, monitoring environmental conditions, and ensuring environmental safety.
