A meeting dedicated to the adoption of the United Nations resolution “International Decade of Peacebuilding for Future Generations (2027–2036)” was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by the Agency’s leadership and staff.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Director of the Agency Pirzoda S.M. delivered welcoming remarks, congratulating the participants of the meeting, as well as the people of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the adoption of this important international document.
In particular, S.M. Pirzoda noted that on 25 June of this year, the United Nations General Assembly, at the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, adopted a special resolution entitled “International Decade of Peacebuilding for Future Generations (2027–2036)”. Through this resolution, Member States reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, advancing dialogue and strengthening intergenerational solidarity as essential foundations for ensuring the well-being of future generations.
In the speeches of relevant specialists, it was emphasized that, in the context of a complex and contradictory modern world, strengthening peace and stability should become one of the priority areas of activity for the international community. The new initiative of the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, to declare the “International Decade of Peacebuilding for Future Generations for 2027–2036” responds to contemporary challenges and is of great international importance in promoting a culture of peace and ensuring a prosperous and peaceful life for present and future generations.
