From 13 to 16 January 2026, a training seminar on the installation and adaptation of the hazardous hydrometeorological alert system “Smartmet Alert” was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology under the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The seminar was organized in cooperation with the Finnish Meteorological Institute within the framework of the “Fintaj” project.
Specialized experts of the Agency participated in the event and, through both theoretical and practical sessions, became familiar with the operational features and technical aspects of the “Smartmet Alert” hazardous hydrometeorological warning system. The implementation of the “Smartmet Alert” system will allow the Agency for Hydrometeorology to more effectively warn the population and relevant services of the republic about possible dangerous weather events, which, in turn, will help minimize the risks and consequences of such events.
