Meeting of the Members of the CBIT Project Steering Committee

On June 3, 2026, a meeting of the Steering Committee of the project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan to Comply with the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement (CBIT)” was held at the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Committee for Environmental Protection of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Qurbonzoda A. H., Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology; Mr. A.F. Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Representation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Republic of Tajikistan; as well as members of the Project Steering Committee.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Qurbonzoda A. H., Director of the Agency for Hydrometeorology and Mr. A. F. Harutyunyan, FAO Representative and Head of Office in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as members of the Project Steering Committee.The meeting commenced with opening remarks from representatives of the Agency for Hydrometeorology and the FAO Representation. In their statements, the parties emphasized the productive cooperation in implementing the provisions of the Paris Agreement, strengthening national capacities, and undertaking effective measures to address the impacts of climate change.

The main objective of the meeting was to review the results of project implementation during 2025–2026 and to discuss further steps to ensure the effective execution of project activities in 2027.

Participants reviewed the progress of planned activities, assessed the results achieved, and discussed issues related to strengthening the national transparency and reporting system. Following the discussions, a set of recommendations was developed regarding the next phases of project implementation and the fulfillment of the Republic of Tajikistan’s international commitments on climate change.
